The Sims 3 Seasons are finally here! No longer are we stuck in a perpetual state of summer we get to enjoy seasonal change. Fall, winter and spring are the new additions to our game, and I must say they have finally gotten something right over at the Maxis team, the little details that went into this expansion is really what makes it a phenomenon. With the seasons are new additions that come along each unique to them.
SUMMER
1.Summer within Sims 3 has undergone a complete face lift, it’s no longer a stale state we get to experience for the first time ever swimming in the ocean! It’s no longer exclusively for fishing; Sims can now take a swim out to sea or float among the waves on a floaty. Another addition to summer was the heatstroke; Sims can now get too hot and faint if not cooled down properly. Its starts of with sweating profusely, then suffering a suntan or burn and eventually your Sims will get too hot and pass out from the heat. If left outside for too long Sims can naturally combust into flames and sadly die if not put out. If you’re unsure how to doze your Sims simply get them to the nearest shower or body of water. With each season comes a PAID day off that you can use however you chose. Leisure Day is simply a day to get out of the house and out into the neighborhood, play games, throw a pool party, or visit the summer festival there are tons of ways to entertain your Sims.
FALL
2.Fall is another very detail oriented season, throughout your neighborhood or backyard leaves will start to change colors and eventually fall off. With this comes a new task to rake leaves, which will double as a woo-hoo spot very similar to the hay pile in the pet’s expansion. Rake the leaves into a big enough pile and your Sims can woo-
hoo within it. Fall weather begins to take a turn and you can experience hailstorms, this doesn’t really damage anything and Sims caught outside suffer from no real threat so it otherwise just serves the purpose to make game play more realistic. The holiday we get is a spin off of Halloween, Spooky Day, children and teens can dress up in costumes and visit surrounding houses to trick or treat. They’ll receive a moodlet and candy to their inventory. Adults can now throw costume parties where guests show up in costumes and have a blast or they can throw are feast-giving parties and guests show up with great food and everyone enjoys dinner.
WINTER
3.Winter is by far my favorite season within the game, the details that went into this was simply amazing and a kudos to the Sims 3 team! The snow is so realistic and as the days progress it piles up and covers your lawn and various objects outside. Eventually icicles can form off your roofs and with the addition of holiday lights it gives the game a Christmas atmosphere. A new feature that Sims can build together or alone and doubles as somewhere to sleep and woo-hoo is the igloo. I love the little details of how your Sims have breath when its winter, how they can leave tracks in the snow, build snow men, and just how the entire town is transformed into a winter wonderland. With winter comes the gift giving party where Sims come over and exchange gifts and can even kiss under the mistletoe!
SPRING
4.In spring everything comes back to life and you see the snow melting into puddles and little flowers start to pop up and grow. Your Sims can experience rain and playing in puddles. You can don your Sims with an umbrella to avoid getting wet and receiving the soaked moodlet. Spring ushers in Love Day where your Sims can enjoy a day with the ones they love and treat them to a beautiful night on the town or cozy up inside, whichever you choose love day gives your Sims a chance to get together and enjoy each others’ company.
EXTRA FEATURES:
1.Seasons bring you the option to choose which seasons you’d like to experience and how long you want to experience it for. You can select if you want rain, snow or hail.
2.With a festival for each season coming to town replacing your neighborhood park, these have games and events to compete in each pertaining to the specific season. Face painting, taking pictures and turning your tickets in for cool reward are among some of the events in a festival.
3.If you simmers have the Supernatural expansion you get the weather stone added, this stone will allow your supernatural Sims to control the weather with bewitching rain, eclipsing fog, reviving sprinkle and hunter’s storm. The green rain causes any Sims caught outside to dance and act crazy. Eclipsing fog allows vampires to create a thick fog that blocks out the sun and they can go outside without burning up course, reviving sprinkle summoned by fairies will revive any dead plants within your neighborhood. Hunter’s storm will cause collectables to fall with snow making it easier for werewolves to hunt and collect items.

Love the review and the style was entertaining enough for me to keep me reading. It makes me want to go back into playing The Sims again.
I love that you did your blog on the Sims! I love that game. I didn’t know they had seasons now. This was a great read.
This is by far my favorite past time, I use to spend hours on end procrastinating while building houses, starting families then killing them and starting all over! Now I want to go play.
This makes me want to play the game again! I used to play all the time but hated the fact that the seasons never changed. It made the game feel incomplete to me.
